Overview
North Lombok is not about Mt. Rinjani as the highest volcano in Lombok. However, it has a lot more than that. It is also home to stunning waterfalls like Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep waterfall and also home to the refreshing countryside around the Senaru area that is attractive to be explored and discovered.
Itinerary
Depart from your hotel in the Senggigi area heading to North Lombok through the winding mountain road to the first stop at Baun Pusuk Monkey Forest, a monkey sanctuary that is situated around 1000 meters above sea level. Get off from the car and enjoy the morning walks on the down-hills amidst tropical greenery and the refreshing air.
Afterward, drive to Senaru village where a local trekking guide awaits. Once ready you will be guided to explore the village, walk to visit the nearby Bale Adat Senaru (Senaru Traditional Village) where you have a chance to meet with local villagers and learn about their way of life and daily routine. Continue your walk along the vegetation and local plantations to the next village called Lendang Cempaka, you will meet the native villagers who live in primitive lifestyles.
We will walk down to the farming lands, where they grow paddies, soya, peanuts, chilly, onion, garlic, and other seasonal crops. Some light terraces can also be seen. Next is following the aqua duck that comes from the waterfalls.
We stop at the first waterfall Sendanggila and continue the walks through wet trails to Tiu Kelep Waterfall. Our trip will break here for rest and enjoy the picnic lunch catered by the local restaurant nearby. You may take the bath and make yourself be cleaned and refreshed.
After your refreshment, we will walk back and spend your last sport walking the stairs up to the village. Stop at the local café and enjoy the hot tea or coffee.
In the afternoon, we will return to Senggigi Beach. You will be transferred back to your hotel for rest. (L)
